清明や言ふべきことは老も言ふ

In the case of above haiku, “Seimei”, which is one of the twenty-four seasonal divisions of a year, is April 4.

In Japanese, the above mentioned word "清明”, which means "clear and bright", and the word "声明”, which means "statement", are synonyms.
